{Thinking About Easter}
March is here and it's time for me to start thinking about Easter. It's just a few weeks away, you know! Last year we started a new tradition in the Pea household - an annual Easter Egg Hunt party!
Now, Mr Pea and I are both teachers and our school (we work at the same one) holds an Easter Egg Hunt for the kiddos. Two years ago we took Princess Pea (who was nearly 2 at the time), thinking it would be fun for her. WRONG! From the pushy big kids grabbing up all the eggs from right under her little hand to the freaky-looking giant Easter bunnies walking around, she was basically traumatised by the whole experience! (To this day she is terrified of anyone in a costume!)
So, last year we decided to skip the school Egg Hunt and host our own instead. We live in a condo complex with a lovely, huge, park-like garden - perfect for egg hunting! We invited all our little friends over to join us. Mummy bought a whole bunch of chocolate eggs and bunnies and chicks and ladybugs and hid them all around the garden. Everyone came over, we did a little Easter craft together (more on that another day), and then the hunt was on! The kids had a great time, there were no bunny costumes, nobody got pushed around, and at the end of the hunt, all the kids, big and small, pooled their findings and happily shared them out equally. Great fun was had by all! So, we decided it should be an annual event.
That brings us to this year and me thinking about our upcoming Easter party. I don't want to do the same craft again, obviously, so I've been searching online for some new ideas. I haven't decided yet what we'll do, but I thought I'd share some of the craft ideas I've found.
